Security Support Roadmap About

Trademark notice

This project names other products in order to say what they do and what this one manages. Nothing here implies any relationship with the companies that own them.

NGINX and F5

NGINX® is a registered trademark of F5, Inc. NGINX Plus is a trademark of F5, Inc.

Failover LB is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by F5, Inc.

NGINX is named throughout this site and throughout the software only to say what this software manages, which is what nominative use is for. Lower case nginx in these pages and in the product means the binary, the configuration file or the command: nginx -t is a command you type, NGINX is the product it belongs to.

The software was called NGINX Management until August 2026 and was renamed for this reason. Nothing in the product name refers to NGINX any more. The one place the old name survives on purpose is the NGINX® Build screen, because that is what the software it builds is called.

About the comparison pages

The comparison and pricing pages score and price products this project does not own and cannot test exhaustively.

  • Scores are this project's opinion, not a measurement. Each row publishes its reasoning so you can disagree with the argument rather than with the number.
  • The appliance columns were scored in August 2026 from published documentation, release notes and datasheets. Both products move independently of this one.
  • Prices are not quotes. None of the vendors publish a rate card, so the figures come from reseller listings and third party price trackers.
  • Where something could not be confirmed either way, it is scored one star and the note says so. A one that admits we do not know is more use than a zero that pretends we do.

If you represent one of these vendors and something here is factually wrong, please get in touch through the support page and it will be corrected.
